 When I was a teenage very new Believer, I was so thrilled to discover Gospel Music. To know that there was music that helped me to connect with the Lord Jesus Christ was very vital to me. I devoured all the cassette tapes, 8-tracks (ugh, now you know just how ancient I am) and LPs I could get my hands on. I listened to Christian stations on the radio, and I attended church concerts that I recorded with my dad's Panasonic cassette recorder (that compact rectangular thing with the sliding handle). Speaking of concerts......I ran to so many Gospel concerts. I went to choir concerts, church anniversaries, and of course I purchased tickets to see whatever big name in Christiandom that happened to appear in the New York Metropolitan area. My criteria was pretty simple: If the music talked about God, I was there!

Welcome to our website. “Richard Smith & Friends” is a worship outreach ministry in the New York area. Based in Rockland County RS&F hails under the auspices of the New City Gospel Fellowship, located in New City, NY. RS&F has spent many years reaching out at jails, drug detox facilities, homeless shelters, rehabilitation hospitals, children’s homes and other places of the less fortunate. This is their call, this is their mission, this is their passion. The testimonies are endless. From crack addicted women, to alcoholic men, and hardened criminals kneeling down to receive Christ.

The mission of “Richard Smith & Friends” is to bring the message of hope and encouragement that we’ve found in ‘Following Christ’ to other people. Via the venue of musical concerts with testimonies RS&F is committed to sharing songs, scripture and personal experiences that support a ‘changed life’ through faith in Jesus. Primarily to the unchurched, infirmed and the incarcerated of our region, we also minister to communities at large when appropriate events become available. By developing ongoing relationships with facility Chaplains, Recreational Therapists and Program Coordinators (as conduits) RS&F will be a supportive ministry to those populations by providing literature, communcating with the facility contacts and praying for their spiritual walk and growth.
